Cindy Souders

Cindy has been making art for more than 45 years. She owned and operated a print shop and publishing firm for 25 years and fell in love with black and white and highlights them in most of her work.

Where she has shown her art
Cindy has shown her work at Northville Art Gallery, Los Laguna Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA, Lansing Art Gallery, Eastend Arts Center in Marshall, MI, Arts Council of Greater Lansing, and Woman Made Gallery, in Chicago, where she is a member. In May she showed at East Lansing Public Art Gallery and Katalyst Gallery in Old Town, Lansing. In July she showed in a collage exhibition at MICA Gallery in Lansing. And currently, her “Then and Now” will be part of the Merged Exhibition at d’Art Center in Norfolk, VA.
She showed her collages and art books at Michigan Institute for Contemporary Arts in Old Town, Lansing, Michigan for the month of July.

Her writing
Cindy has reviewed more than 50 online artist tutorials and published them in her blog, “ArtVentures in Learning”. She uses social media to publish her “Portraits of My Heroes” series. Her goal is to publish 100 portraits; she has made 50 so far, and they are available for viewing here.

Cindy is a member of Arts Council of Greater, Lansing, Woman Made Gallery (Chicago), and I94 Art Group. She is also web master and mamber manager at Eastend Arts Center in Marshall, Michigan.

About her art
Cindy strives to bring nature into any piece she creates. Currently, she is working in dimensional collage, where she has added real life from her garden into her art.
She works almost daily in charcoal in her sketchbooks, and continues to explore stylized portraits.
Her latest work is a series of vases and urns made from recovered materials and papier mached, painted and embellished. You can shop her latest pieces on Etsy.
